THIS IS ME!

Sustainability, social interaction and everyone’s differences are keywords in this workshop.

Just as the trees are both individuals and a common collective through the roots, we function as human beings. We are both individually independent, but also sit together with each other on a figurative level. We all belong to different contexts and groups, large and small. The family, the circle of friends, the society we live in, the country we belong to, as well as the common land we all live in.

There are invisible paths between us humans that create social contexts and are important for our community. The trees form forests together and we humans form togetherness together. We strive for everyone to feel that they belong to several human contexts and that sustainability can also mean sustainable relationships.

Large papers are lying on the floor, depending on the number of students, there may be several papers. Each student has a charcoal chalk in his hand. The students walk around on the paper without touching each other until there is a stop signal. They take their charcoal chalk and draw a circle around themselves. Some circles get big others smaller, shape does not matter.

On the material table awaits a well-filled carefully thought-out material, everything from dry pastel crayons to tissue paper, different kinds of glue and other colors, paper, sequin brushes and watercolors and more. The students are given the task of filling in their own circle based on the words “This is me”. They have all the materials at their disposal.

When everyone is done with their individual circles, it’s time to create cohesion with each other. By drawing and painting roads, paths, tracks or bridges to the circles of others, a context, a community is created.
