RE-USE

As an artist, Ieke Trinks seeks appreciation for the worthless. She mainly focuses on performance art, interventions on the street and interaction as art and develops and supervises educational projects, including for Villa Zebra in Rotterdam.

She does not work with the children at the school itself, but in a studio elsewhere in the neighbourhood.
With this project she wants to make visible what we actually do not want to see: what do we do as consumers after consuming.

Ieke seeks a balance between developing art projects in the context of education, in which the integration of everyday activities and actions, as a form of art, can be part. Ieke works with the strategies that she also uses as an artist herself.
Collecting material on the street, ‘shopping’ with a shopping cart, the parade are for her an activist art action.
