EARTH COUTURE

We construct something big and simple, and we use recycled materials for everything. The concept of the Sustainability Development Goals is clearly stated through the creative ideas and solutions invented by the children.

The constructions provide amble opportunity for immersion in mathematics, physics, construction, and design. Acrobatic training further supports this and adds physical activities to the day.

We create a fashion house as the framework for big ideas, fantasy, and playful, ostentatious, and caricatured outputs. The catwalk will help setting a deadline for production and to have a stage for the children’s arts.

In cooperation with children and teachers we create ideas, design dresses, and add them to the dress forms. The children learn of various materials, and how these can help achieve different outputs.

We divide the children in groups of 4-6 and let them each create a fashion dress of recycled materials. Each of them takes roots in one of the SDGs. They train acrobatics and self-awareness during the week.

At the end is a simple catwalk, with a red carpet with a crowd lining the sides. A speaker contributes to the active ‘catwalking’ model with design choices and relevance for the SDGs.
